This project centers on creating a campaign that strengthens Milwaukee’s sense of community and deepens its connection to the city. To demonstrate how the campaign would live in the world, the system is applied across social media assets and mockups, an environmental installation for a public space, and a motion piece.

Our campaign, Empowering Educators, aims to strengthen Milwaukee’s community through a type-centric system that inspires collective action. Research revealed a significant lack of support and recognition for our local Milwaukee educators; many are overworked, underpaid, and undervalued despite their essential role in shaping the city’s youth. By placing teachers at the center, the campaign celebrates their impact and emphasizes their importance to Milwaukee’s well-being. Our primary audience includes taxpayers, parents of MPS students, local businesses, and city and school board officials.
The Proposed Petition: We are asking for local support to join us in challenging MPS School Board to change the precedent for the treatment of teachers, by rallying support for petition, spreading awareness of unfair treatment of our teachers, and promoting irreversible legislature that protects teachers presently and in the future. We are going to urge the MPS School Board to . . .
Acknowledge the unfair work-life balance currently in place
Offer fair compensation for extracurricular activities
Increase paid time off to support our teachers' families and well beings'
Source school supplies from federal budget
Intentionally aiding administrative scheduling process to ensure teachers have time for prep and lunch throughout school day
